Barriers we recognize and address.
Vetbaseball creates opportunities for veterans to engage in the joy of baseball while addressing the barriers they face as a result of their service. Many veterans tell us we provide comfort, helping them move past the trauma associated with their experiences. Join us in honoring their courage and giving back to those who’ve given so much.
Transportation
We provide luxury bus transportation for veterans. Imagine not wanting to travel, knowing a flashback can easily stimulate intense thoughts or feelings related to a trauma. We have seen how veterans instinctively support veterans, understanding when and how to de-escalate potential decompensation.
More than the game…
Loss of interest, negative beliefs, and feelings of hopelessness often lead to avoidance of activities that were once enjoyable. PTSD often results in guilt, shame, or self-blame. Vetbaseball understands that maintaining camaraderie and comfort in a safe environment leads to a day of joy.
Why Vetbaseball…
Our volunteers—veterans and non-veterans alike—engage with empathy. Vetbaseball’s founders previously operated a behavioral health practice serving hundreds of residential clinics, including VA facilities throughout Florida. While we do not provide clinical services, we deeply understand the needs of those we serve.
Here’s a few things we do…
Upon arrival, we serve a catered meal at our seats. Snacks and beverages throughout. We arrange a VIP visit or two. Offer to walk our guests around the ballpark promenade. Co-mingle, we sit amongst our guests, learn about each other. We all get back on the bus with new friends and mutual respect. And a new t-shirt!
